Is this a joke or did Wittingham actually say that? If he actually said that then I think it is good that he took the Utah job about 13 years ago. That’s a seriously funny remark, and if it is true, it was unintentionally funny. It sounds like something you would expect Nick Saban to say.
How important are sports in the grand scheme of things? I would say not very important. Probably less important than music, art, and a number of other things. I thinks sports can be a good thing but not terribly important in the grand scheme of things. I think Whitt found the right fit at the U.
